To whom it may concern,

We are making preparations for our 13th Annual Brayden's Trail Of Strength for Saturday, August 03, 2024.  Brayden's Trail Of Strength is a 10k trail run/hike event. The purpose of this event is to raise money for the Chromosome18 & Research Society, a non-profit organization, and bring awareness to this very rare genetic disorder.

The decision to donate the money to the Chromosome18 Research, came from having a personal experience. On January 10, 2011, my son, Brayden Lee Blackwell, was born at Arnot Ogden Medical Center three months early, weighting only 2 lbs. 5 oz. He spent the next three months in the NICU before being transferred to Janet Weis Children’s Hospital for another two months in their NICU. During the first few days of his life, Brayden was diagnosed with Ring 18. With this disorder being so rare, the Doctors had to request for information from another hospital. For the most part, we had to do a lot of research on our own. Then we learned about and became members of the Chromosome18 Registry & Research Society. It has opened doors for us to communicate with Doctors, parents, and other individuals who are part of the research team.

As a sponsor, your financial support will be used to purchase participant t-shirts, event insurance, awards, refreshments, and other materials needed to hold our event. I hope that you will be able to help us in any way possible. The organizing committee understands that not every business has the resources to sponsor this event financially, but may have the desire to donate items that can be raffled off or placed in “goodie bags.

There is a form that notes the sponsorship levels that are being offered to groups and businesses that sponsor this event. I hope that you will take the time to look at this information and will be able to help us.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Sponsorship money is due before July 27, 2024.  Again, I thank you for your generosity and appreciate your support in our mission to help in the research of the Chromosome18 Disorder, but also to honor our son, Brayden.

Sincerely,
